| I'VE GOT A JOB!! i'm working at pookies, a new coffee shop downtown.
i'm really excited to start next tuesday. classes are going along fine,
lots of work, but i'm sorta taking a little break tonight. i haven't
watched law and order in a while, so that's what i'm doing now. i have
a meeting in 45 mins, then i'll probably read a little, then go to bed
so i can get up early and do some more reading before class tomorrow.
i'm ready for homecoming to be here, but alas, a few more weeks. i'm a
hermit, doing my work, which sucks. but i'm cool with it, i'll
hopefully pull a 4.0 this term. that's really all i've got. now my
xanga doesn't suck, and it didn't really suck before, some people just
like to pick on me occassionally.

| so, i've determined that i am slowly starving to death waiting for the
stupid caf to open. and i have also determined that the recent running
regiment i've been on is being completely balanced out by the crappy
food one is forced to eat when they have nothing but a microwave, so my
progress is being hindered. but other than that things are good. i'm
excited for classes to finally start, except for the $300 book tab i'll
have this term. stupid $80 education books. it looks like matthew won't
be coming to visit in september as i had hoped, but will be here for
homecoming. that's a long time from now, but i can tough it out. i
interviewed for the second time at mcguillicuddy's today, and it went
well, so i'll hear on wednesday or thursday. so hopefully i'll have a
job very very soon. i can use the extra money. anyway, that's about all
i've got. i'm gonna run to cornucopia and do a few other errands, all
while listening to westside connection in my awesome car....

| so, here i am in so cal having a good old time. it's a nice break from
the stress of being home and the stress of writing my paper etc. had a
nice visit in klamath falls w/ some friends. had a good time visiting
the oldest ritter in bakersfield, although i think i'm allergic to
something in bakersfield, because i've never had an allergic reaction
before to anything other than a couple medicines, but my eyes were all
watery and my nose was stuffy etc. but it's going away now, so that's
nice. matthew got home yesterday. that was exciting. i leave for knox
on thurs w/ beverly and hopefully matthew. until then i'll just be
chillin and relaxing.

| um.... yeah.... that's all i got.

| watching an incredible 13 yr old violinist who just recently played a
solo at carnegie hall.... he is amazing.... life in galesburg is
boring.... reserach is coming along, but it sucks a lot. i can't wait
to get home again the 13th of august. driving back will be awesome.
it's lonely here. my roommates are great, but i'm alone during the day
working on my paper and stuff in the apartment, and they all have jobs
on campus so they are gone all day. it leaves me with lots of time to
mope and think, which is not such a good thing anymore. i'm excited for
classes to start again, because then i'll feel like i'm accomplishing
something useful, and i like the professors i have next term. it should
be a good term for me, i'm hoping. i guess i'll just have to wait and
see how everything works out.
